"Angkor Thanksgiving" to be Held in Mid-December by APSARA National Authority

SIEM REAP: The Apsara National Authority is planning to hold the “Angkor Thanksgiving” event from 14 and the 16 of December. The event is aimed to commemorate the Khmer ancestors who built the temple of Angkor and its previous kings and queens as a conservational effort to preserve the biggest World Heritage Site Cambodia.

The “Angkor Thanksgiving” will feature religious programs, art performances and exhibitions showcasing the general APSARA National Authority achievements for the conservation of Angkor What, giving the public a better view of their works on temple restoration and create awareness of sustainable development activities and preservation.

According to the Deputy Director-General of APSARA National Authority, Chum Sopheakmakara, this year’s event will be a trial edition, followed by annual ceremonies starting in 2022. Another religious and art performances will happen before the opening day, between the 12 and 13 of December, totally sponsored by private companies.
